Shade the View was founded by Justin Pace, a U.S. Navy veteran and chemical engineer who grew up immersed in the world of custom window treatments. Raised in Fairhope, Justin was introduced to the industry at a young age when his mother launched The Drapery Makery, running her custom drapery workroom from their family home.
Throughout his high school and college years, Justin worked alongside his family, gaining hands-on experience and a deep understanding of the craft. After earning his B.S. in Chemical Engineering, he went on to serve 10 years in the U.S. Navy as a submarine officer, An experience that shaped his discipline, leadership, and attention to detail.
Following his military service, Justin worked with an engineering firm in Atlanta, GA, before returning to his hometown of Fairhope. In 2020, he proudly continued the family legacy by founding Shade the View.
